Volunteer Research Technician

The WHEEL Laboratory is currently seeking undergraduate  student volunteers who are willing to work 5 to 10 hours per week. Duties will involve assisting graduate students with data acquisition and analysis.  This position is viewed as an entry level with the potential for continued and evolving independent research projects.  Please send a resume and cover letter via email to Dr. Enid Montague. 

Independent Research/ Undergraduate Thesis Projects 

The WHEEL Laboratory is currently seeking rising junior and senior undergraduates who are interested in working on senior or independent research projects.  Research topics may range from prototype design/testing to understanding technology interaction in health care. Graduate Level

Masters Thesis / Independent Research Projects 


The WHEEL Laboratory is currently seeking graduate students who are interested in working on master's theses or independent research projects.  Research topics may range from prototype design/testing  to technology interaction in health care to team collaboration. Doctoral Research Assistantship

One research project coordinator position is available July 2015. The project coordinator manages daily operations of a biomedical &/or social­behavioral research study involving multidisciplinary teams of colleagues, sponsors & other external project stakeholders. . Another project will involve using human factors and ergonomics engineering methods to understand the effects of technology implementation in health care work systems. In support of these projects, research collaborations with primary care physicians, biomedical engineers, and industrial partners have been established. Full funding (stipend and tuition) is available for this assistantship.  A B.S. or M.S. degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science with a concentration in human factors and ergonomics and human-computer interaction is preferred. Research Staff Level

Research Project Coordinator

A Research Project Coordinator Position within the Wellness and Health Enhancement Engineering Laboratory (WHEEL). The project coordinator will contribute to research projects in the design and evaluation of consumer and clinical health information technologies. This is a fulltime position that includes opportunities for advancement located at the downtown Chicago campus. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research at the interface of engineering and health care. A B.S. or M.S. degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Psychology or Computer Science with a concentration in human factors and ergonomics and human-computer interaction is preferred.
